EU labour market — statistical data
According to Eurostat's report for the previous year, the unemployment rate in the European Union stood at 6.1%, the lowest level since systematic measurements began. The unemployment rate varied significantly between Member States: from 2.3% in the country with the lowest unemployment to 14.7% in the country with the highest. The report further notes that employment growth was recorded in most, but not all, EU Member States. Youth unemployment (15–24 years) remains more than twice as high as the overall unemployment rate. The data do not include workers employed part-time against their will, nor persons who have stopped actively looking for work.
